Tasmanian photographers Will “Happy” and Julia here, the creative minds behind Finding Happy Photography. We’re just a couple of folks who dig snapping pics, telling stories & sharing laughs. You’ll often catch us with a camera in hand, but our interests go far beyond the lens.
From cozy tea sessions to epic board game battles, we live for the simple pleasures and the grand adventures alike. We originally delved into photography to document our own travels and misadventures, we now consider ourselves life documentarians and storytellers, creating a vibrant tapestry of tales and weaving together the narratives of souls from every corner of the globe.

What next?

Suss out the photos in our portfolio. What are you looking for? Photographers all have different styles. Some people are more formal in their posing and others prefer more relaxed, in the moment shots. There’s the luxury editorial look, an arty freestyle vibe, old film style… to mention a few. On top of that everyone edits slightly differently (think of it kind of like a photo filter but more fancy).
We call ourselves professional storytellers because our preference is for documentary, candid shots. We want you to look back on your wedding photos and feel allllllll the feelings again and again. We want you to remember every little detail.
Basically if you like the photos in our portfolio then you’re set. You should expect to get the same style photos of your day. Oh and check out our packages too. If you’re happy with all of that, proceed to step two!

If we’re a good fit then fill out some paperwork (brief, we promise!), pay a deposit and your booking is secure. We all celebrate!

We can have as many (or as little) as you’d like. At the very least you’ll be sent an online questionnaire asking about all the details of your day 6 weeks beforehand and we’ll have a final catch up for last minute questions shortly after.
If you don’t have all the details that’s okay too. We’ve being doing this awhile now so we got you. If you need suggestions then let us know. If you just want to go with the flow, we’re equally happy to tag along and capture all those beautifully unscripted moments.

Wedding time! We tag along and document what will probably be one of the best days of your lives (we’re not crying, you are…).
Will ends up on the dance floor and Julia can’t get him to leave at the end of the night. We all become great friends because you’ve been stuck with us all day. That’s usually how it goes!

Will gets to work right away. We aim to get you 3-5 fully edited photos within 24-48 hours. No doubt you’re keen to share a pic or two as soon as possible!
The rest of the photos will take time to sort through and edit. You should get these within 4 weeks.
Once your online photo gallery is delivered, check out our online store where with partnered with some excellent companies. Here you can order professional prints and design your own luxury wedding album.
